First thing I would suggest is that whomever assembled your turbo set up last time around should not do it this time around. From the pics it is obvious you had exhaust leaks to go along with the oil leaks. This could have only happened from a careless install.Next, The 2530 turbos you have are very close to a GT28RS or 700 turbo. The 2530 has the same exhaust wheel and a slightly larger compressor. From my experience the 2530 can make more boost and slightly more power with the compressor wheel design it has, But the 2530 spools a little slower..... If you want more power then going to the .86 housing and adding 500 cams and better manifolds and down pipes will bring you to your goal with ease. IMO the power you want is too high for the .64 housing if you want the engine to live a long time. For 575 peak RWHP and below the .64 housings are fine and will spool slightly faster then the .86 housings. I have had both housings on my car and found the difference in lag is minimal. With the stock cams the car was only slightly laggy with the .86 housings, With the 500 cams lag is very minimal and the car accelerates like a V8. The 2871 turbo will be very laggy. The TD05 and TD06 turbos are much laggier then the garrett line of turbos that offer the same power, Also the center sections on the TD line up are only bushing turbos and offer no cooling center sections. The TD type are extremely old school and I would not recommend them. Hope that helps!
